FAQs

How is coaching different than therapy?

Coaching is not therapy (for more details and legal disclaimer, see our Terms and Conditions here). Therapy is wonderful and necessary for many. The focus of therapy often is to help with mental health issues, mental disorders, personality disorders, healing from trauma and PTSD, addictions, various mental illnesses, deep interpersonal difficulties, brain injury recovery, and sorting out the details of the past. Therapists help take people to a higher functioning, stable level, and once someone is at that higher functioning, stable level, coaching can be appropriate and helpful. While the past does come up with coaching, we look at it very differently and don’t spend a lot of time there. Coaching is future-focused and dedicated to performing highly in various areas of life. Coaching is not therapy or a replacement for therapy, medications, or medical help and interventions.

So, if coaching isn’t therapy, what is Coaching?

Coaching future-oriented and focused on accomplishment and performance in life. It entails specific and measurable results. Often we know what to do, but aren’t effective at getting it done. Coach Prime has a curriculum, education, and various tools to help move you forward to accomplish what you’d like to in life. Coaches vary in their specialties, and some are more generalized, such as Coach Prime.

Coaching is not mentoring. Mentors have mastered something very specific that you’d like to master and they help you through by giving you advice. An example of a mentor is someone who’s been married successfully for 50 years, helping a younger person also be married for 50 years by advising them on marital issues. Coaching is more general and covers a wide array of life goals, and is not advice.

Coaching is not consulting. Consultants come in, take a look at what’s currently being done or not being done and then they come up with an implementation plan for you to use. Then they leave and cash their check. Whether or not you use their plan, isn’t their concern as they got paid and are gone. Coaching is an on-going relationship where the coach does help you implement changes, but sticks around to help see them through and make tweaks and improvements where necessary. Coaching can last anywhere from 2 months to a few years depending on your personal obstacles, wants, and goals.

How do I know which program to buy?

If you don’t have a lot of time for, or just don’t feel ready for being individually coached, a self-paced online course or eBook may be best for you. One on one coaching takes about 2 -3 hours worth of consistent and persistent work per week (and it’s SO worth it!). Live online group classes can take up to 3-5 hours per week (which is also SO worth it!) with classes and homework combined.

What if I don’t like coaching, can I get a refund?

No worries, we want you be happy and use your money well! There are refund policies in our terms and conditions page. Quickly though, refund policies for the self paced courses, live courses, and one on one coaching are under each individual product and in the purchase area. There are no refunds (no exceptions) for eBooks and digital downloads as these are not something that can be returned to Coach Prime, or The Company. Unfortunately, there are a lot of thieves out there looking to copy the work of innovators and creators, so we can’t allow refunds of electronic products. So choose carefully! For further questions about refunds include your order number and email us at howdy @coachprime.com
